One of the simplest pleasures in life is good smell of a man or woman. Colognes give us the illusion of what there is out there and sends us into memory bliss creating a unique and refreshing experience. I absolutely love a good smell of cologne on any man and even appreciate it on a woman when the smell compliments her skin type.

Many years ago, I use to work in a cosmetic department at on of our largest retailers in the country. It always amazed me as to how little anyone knew about the essence of fragrance and what it is meant for. I also found it refreshing to share my experiences with ladies for fragrance layering and then with the men who would purchase for the love of their lives or even themselves. Because of technology offered today, we have the opportunity to appreciate all types of smells and senses. Whether you prefer the woodsy smells, floral or even the hint of tobacco or coffee, it’s hard to believe that we are able to mix so many undeniable scents that allow our noses to go into a positive frenzy!

Okay don’t get me wrong sometimes not everyone smells the greatest. Either they have too much cologne on for whatever reason or that they like a particular smell but that smell doesn’t work with their body type. Now a lot of the time when someone uses too much it means that they can not smell the fragrance on themselves so they put on too a little too much. A good idea is to do what the professional call fragrance layering. This is where you use all on scent from the fragrance in stages.

For example, use the bath or shower gel, then either the body cream or body lotion and then dab the cologne on selected areas. Okay when I say dab I mean a slight spritz or dash of cologne. It doesn’t have to be a lot because the littlest amount used will go a very long way. The preferred areas where the fragrance should lightly touch your body is on the wrists, behind your ears and behind your knees. Sometimes for a special occasion, I found it always nice to add a little in the center cease of your breasts.

I also found out that you should never ever rub your wrists together because it will create a very offensive smell that will be not very pleasing to everyone that comes into contact with you. Remember back in high school and in chemistry class when we worked with the periodic table. Well, I for once never was good at chemistry and never thought that I would ever need to know anything from that class to take me into the real world. For the record, I was wrong! This something that I will not always admit, just ask my husband. In chemistry class, we learned that everything will have a reaction of some sort. Each and every one of us has our very own unique body chemistry and sometimes certain smells do not flatter us!

It is important to remember to always try the fragrance out before purchasing and make sure that you enjoy the scent hours after it was applied. If you like it then buy it!
